There are two groups of letters in the personality type code:
The dominant function of an INFJ is the perceptive one of iNtuition. This means you like looking at information from a global viewpoint, spotting patterns and relationships, that leads to an understanding of the key issues. You tend to focus more on possibilities for the future than the here-and-now, and you enjoy gaining insights into people and where they may be going in the future.
The perceptive iNtuition function is introverted. That is, iNtuition is used primarily to govern the inner world of thoughts and emotions. You therefore seek to develop a deep understanding of people, relating your observations of people to underlying aspects of the human psyche, that everyone shares. You are strategic in nature, wanting to establish a clear vision towards which you are working, though that vision is somewhat private, as you tend not to involve others in its development.
The diagram represents how an average INFJ uses all the functions. You can find out more about the diagram, and your personal, unique type dynamics, by completing our personality test.
